Well after some last minute work, non-sleeping, hardware crashes (Murphy strike) and some other issues, we managed to get our 1st Debian-exclusive event done. It had good talks, we even had a guest speaker who taught us about security and cryptography related tools in Debian, Walter spoke about Debian Med and free software in health services, very interesting subject. Ulix about the cluster they've implemented, and finally we also did the first key singing party (let the Peruvian cult^Wkeyring roll!), the event was so cool that even the part-of-the-problem^WUbuntu was present.
Of course not all was perfect (what?), yes I admit it: I can actually fail :D. Well, some things were missed like promoting a bit more, printing flyers, making merchandising like t-shirts and other cool stuff, and the "greeting thing", which is my fault. Well, hopefully we can do better next time.
One thing I really like, besides the event had quite success for being the first time, is my slides. This time I wanted to show Debian from a different perspective of what it is. People generally tend to see the final result (on free software development) and most people doesn't actually think or realize what's behind such things, who is actually doing the job, and who are the people who makes such things possible.
So, this time I wanted to show them the people who makes what Debian is, as kov wrote on DebConf4 board, "...people is our best value", I completely agree with that, without such valuable people Debian wouldn't be possible. I guess I've covered most of people in the project, obviously is quite impossible to have all there ;), but I've tried to "summarize" and while explaining things I've put a related picture on it, some are quite funny indeed. I think people got the "message" ;)
Once again I'd like to thank people who made it possible, organizers, speakers, assistants, one special to Helen and Anja who helped me with the Debian Women mini-talk (it went fine girls!), and also to you for being so supportive besides everything else :)
