Hay que contar algunas cosas interesantes que están ocurriendo.

El equipo del instalador de Debian se complace en anunciar que se ha añadido la interfaz gráfica de instalación a las imágenes oficiales de Etch para las plataformas i386 y pronto para AMD64 y PowerPC, es decir estimado usuario que podrá instalar un sistema Etch si ingresa «installgui» o «expertgui». Nuestro coordinador de proyecto amenaza con colocar esta opción del instalador como la predeterminada para las versiones posteriores a Etch.

Adicionalente se ha añadido soporte para instalación en sistemas de ficheros cifrados en forma nativa gracias a la mejora de libparted-crypto. Además de otras novedades. Esto si que va a ser divertido.

Sí, también podrá incorporarlos Ubuntu(?). Mientras tanto sigamos trabajando para que Debian no se convierta en un supermercado.

Por si no lo saben todavía, The Ocean Blue, aquél grupo que nos hace bailar con Sublime o Drifting falling se presenta en Lima el 1 de junio próximo en el ex teatro Rajatabla en Barranco.

Este concierto lo organiza el bar Yacana, que por cierto está ponedor, por su aniversario. Vayan para que la escena siga creciendo y tengamos los grupos que nos gustan en su época. Nos vemos con una Ballerina fuera de control. It was so sublime.

Hace tiempo que no publico nada sobre música. Han pasado miles de cosas y hay bastante por comentar acerca de lo que nos permite sobrevivir del tedio criminal.

Rápidamente y gracias a autobus, un blog altamente recomendable para enterarse de la escena musical local y novedades del exterior, les queria avisar que se ha organizado un evento de condecoración, siguiendo la ola que tuvo a Yma Sumac en la cresta, de homenaje al grupo de rock «Los Saicos» este sábado 27 de mayo en la municipalidad de Lince, intersección de las calles Miguel Iglesias y Julio C. Tello, a las 10:30am.

¿Quienes son Los Saicos? se preguntará usted joven y colorido lector. Pues es uno, sino el mejor, grupo de rock peruano de todos los tiempos. Un grupo del que quiza algunos hayan escuchado la canción «demolición» en «cover» de Leusemia, y que se ha convertido en estos días en centro de mucha prensa y algunos dolores de cabeza. Al parecer estos «problemas» no solo existen en el círculo de la música, sino que al parecer son enfermedad nacional, que lástima por mi país.
Recomiendo leer el «post» de autobus sobre «Los Saicos» si es que le pica, y desea rascarse, la curiosidad.

Bueno, ya lo saben; si quieren pasar un rato bacán, enterarse de la (verdadera) historia del rock en el Perú, desconectarse del tedio demagógico y violentista del momento electoral dense una vuelta por Lince. Ahi nos vemos.

Sometimes things happen, this time they hit me. Suddely I'm not on the plane to MEX and don't even know if I'll make it.

When I was told that Mexican team will take care of the visa issue I was like oh great, that make things a lot easier for me since I've been in busy days working on client's projects. Then one day I received the confirmation for "internamiento", I said yay!.

Then called to the Mexican embassy and asked, as told, what should I do to get my visa. The lady asked my lastname and then she spelled the rest of my name (and I remember this, but yes I'm aware that I had this bad? habit to record things at the very frist time they have been told to me; so its great you may say, but it's not since sometimes I missinterpret and I record that) so I undertood that she checked in something and saw my name and spelled to me.
I confirmed and she told me the requisites and that I have to pay $USD98 and make an apointment online.

I said Oh well and hit the site. It was May 3 and for my surprise there were no available days for apointment until May 11. I said oh well again, since I was planning to fly on May 10, but one day more doesn't hurt and we could save some bucks. Next days I've been trying to find a cheap flight for May 12, I found it and bought it.

May 11 went to the embassy, got to the officer desk asked for the visa, she checked and none found. She told me it hasn't been sent yet. I've asked a friend to confirm the "Oficio" number with Gabriela on IRC then gave it to the lady, she said the same and asked me why did I went since I didn't called to confirm. I said I did and the lady spelled my name so I understood that she was looking at something and checking. She asked me what's this lady name because you are making a serious acussation, I was like "hell I don't go asking names to everyone"; but told I didn't know. Then I cooled down or something and said "what can I do then since I'm supossed to fly tomorrow". She told me to ask Mexican people to fax me a copy or something.

I was supossed to get back home, with my visa, buy some stuff and gifts I wanted to take over there, pack my clothes and the stuff a very good friend kindly checklisted for me, finish some client work and sleep early to go airport. No, ain't doing that!.
I know people in Mexico was working hard to make this work smoothly as possible, I know they are overstressed due the many problems they are facing. I'm even feeling more stupid for not being able to help over there with the organisation. And as time goes and people and friends arrive I feel more helpless. Risking to loose money is something ain't looking at now, I'm not taking this as bad as I've probably would do in other times, since I recently got in trouble with some "investment", I believe I'm also getting old heh.

So far my chances are to wait for INM to fax the order here (when its the question), call to the embassy to confirm, ask for an appointment (PANIC: dates available till today are from May 22 on). Yesterday I was even considering to apply for a visa by myself but as been told this would be duplication, which actually sucks more, and yes there's no guarantee I'll get it.

Things I don't understand is why on earth latinamericans ask visas to each other. I wasn't in such situation before, when I traveled in south america I was free to enter another country without much hassle. The Andean Community have this agreement to let people travel even with their own country' Id. I hope one day other countries will follow such things.

Anyway I hope you have planty fun and hopefully I join you at some point. Thanks to people working on this, I know there are other in almost the same situation, and friends who gave me support on IRC. I'm going out to have some fresh air.

I supose this is my self-introduction to planet.d.o and somehow to Debian.
Last days were crazy and I've felt a bit overwhelmed for the many compliments I've received from local friends when they found it. I thank them again and commit myself to work hard to give more quality free software.

In other news after some issues I managed to get my tickets to MEX!. Antonio also managed but we'll not fly together, he's arriving one day before than I.
I'm looking forward to meet you people and specially those new who come from places like Bolivia. I'm really glad to know there's interest for Debian in such countries. I believe I can blame Gunnar for that.

While I'm still here I made my first non-sponsored upload. I plan to work on my pending (and a bit long) TODO list for packages and translations at DebConf.

Como saben, o sino ya se enteran, estaré participando de la septima conferencia de desarrolladores Debian en Oaxtepec, Mexico.

Desafortunadamente es probable que mi querida compañera killingmoon no me acompañe como en ocasiones anteriores. Por esto recurro a la masiva audiencia para preguntar y pedir a alguno que tenga una laptop que no este usando o no piense usar por estas semanas y pueda prestarla, se comunique conmigo (antes del próximo martes 9) a: rudy EN apesol.org.
No interesan las características, es suficiente con que cuente con red (LAN o WiFi) y un disco de 10GB+. Agradezco su colaboración desde ya.

pd: Está de más decir que la necesito usar completa por lo que no confien mucho de mi capacidad de mantener algún sistema (y datos) pre-existente si estos no me sirven.

Aprovechando el entusiasmo aquí el inicio de una serie de revisiones, que tenia planeada publicar hace algún tiempo, sobre lugares de comida vegetariana ubicados en Lima. Tal vez luego expandamos a otras ciudades, veremos que ocurre.
Empezaremos por uno que me gusta mucho por las características que describo a continuación.

Tipo de cocina: Comida tradicional peruana, comida internacional

Precios: Bastante accesibles. Ejm. menú entre S/. 6 y S/. 7 soles.

Comentarios: La comida es bastante buena tanto en el sabor como la presentación, que no es exquisita por lo que no espere algo tipo gourmet. Las opciones del menú, ver (algo desactualizado), están hechas pensando en una alimentación balanceada; una de las razones por las que me gusta. En mayoría resembla platos típicos peruanos por lo que tenga la certeza de que no se puede aburrir jamas de la comida. Además presenta opciones interesantes utilizando ingredientes como espárragos y otros productos locales los cuales pocas veces tenemos la oportunidad de consumir en el menú diario.
El ambiente es agradable; aunque donde me gusta comer es al frente, en la tienda naturista. No hay problema de ordenar en la propia tienda, puede solicitar incluso que calienten la comida si perdió calor en el trayecto.
En la tienda naturista además puede encontrar jugos, diversos turrones (incluidos los de harina de coca), granolas, hierbas, etc.
Es concurrido por turistas y personas afines a grupos de tipo espiritual o new age, por lo que espere encontrar propaganda sobre actividades de este tipo.
La atención muy buena, los dueños son bastante amables; y puede incluso consultar sobre asuntos relacionados a las hierbas para algún tipo de dieta o lo necesario para tener una alimentación adecuada.
